Unfortunate Words of Affection.

Okay. So it seems like a lot of fellow lasses out there were pretty hacked off by the now somewhat infamous Huntress retort… “Girl, I am putting you on a diet.” said to Power Girl in Worlds’ Finest #3.

I understand the hurt. I do. Personally speaking though, it didn’t bother me. I’m still pretty new to Helena as a character though, I’m more familiar/enamoured by Karen; overall I’m very green to the DC universe. So maybe I’m missing something when I feel like it didn’t bother me. But, I do feel like what I now consider to be an unfortunate collection of words chosen by Hel to express relief and affection, shouldn’t have gone without a sharp comeback from Karen. Later on. Exactly like this one I just wrote up.  I feel like, with a comeback missing, then yes Hel’s words really are just trite and unnecessary. Quips like that should only be put in place to cause hilarious, biting banter.

There, I’m done. In no way is this definitive or an argument.  Just, Power Girl should always have sass. I’m gonna carry on looking forward to #4.
