Okay, I have had a couple thoughts about this movie boiling up for a while…they are observations, things I saw and experienced, more than actual theories of my own, so please bear with me.
The interesting thing about Frozen is how polarizing it is. People seem to mostly either adore it, or they absolutely hate it with a scorn that seems to go beyond the film’s faults.
I saw it, and I enjoyed it, but I did feel it had some story problems, and many other issues have been raised that make some sense to me, as well. My opinion of the film isn’t the issue.
This. This. Fucking THIS.
Frozen has it flaws (but show me more than a handful of films that don’t?), however, it has laid some serious, hard ass ground work for actual real potential in the future of mainstream animated films and their characters. I honestly believe that.
The first four films right now in the “Romantic Drama” section on Netflix look like the exact same movie.
i.e they all look awful
|Step 1:||like a thing|
|Step 2:||find a few close friends who also like the thing|
|Step 3:||don't talk to anyone else in the fandom literally those 5-6 persons are your fandom|
I’m 27. I’ve been reading comics for 11 years. And these four panels are the most relatable thing I have ever read. Ever.
Fuck it. I really wanna do this. I am in desperate need of practice and motivation.
If I even get any suggestions, I’ll pick 3-5 that I like the best and go with them.I’ll take any suggestions, but as a heads up; I like comic book ladies with super awesome cool hair, Pokemon, roller derby, animals, sometimes anime, and pretty much any lesbian characters from anything ever.
Current palette challenge progress :D
#11 Miss Aubrey/Dance Central wip (except I’m making it a doubler for my own pleasure and using #10 for Emilia, because also I’m a pathetic shipping loser.)
#80 Tamsin and Lauren from Lost Girl *squee*
#85 Evening/night scene *continues to ponder ideas for this*
#99 Alex Vause/OITNB *double squee*
I’m not rushing through these, but I like having them to do for breaks when I’m working on other things so keep the Asks coming in, if you’re so inclined :)
I did it. I painted this bag of dicks. While listening to Fall Out Boy what am I like a new-age emo kid?
Old America drawing I did last year; reposting because 4th of July and all that <3
Roller Derby training can be so tough - the mental and physical strain on these skaters is clearly visible. What - you didn’t think we actually ENJOYED prancing about on roller skates… did you?
Blink and you’ll miss me, but I’m actually in this video….! Although by this point I think I was weeping quietly from the pain of hoping about like a lunatic on my toe stops all night.
My Top Five Characters of the Past Ten Years
1. Storm: X-Men (various series) 1975 - present
2. America Chavez: Vengeance, 2013. Young Avengers, 2013-2014.

4. Korra: The Legend of Korra, 2012 - present
5. Kia: Broken Sky, 1999-2001
I have so many more.
This was a hard list to make. And actually it’s mostly pretty recent folk, so I might make another one that predates anyone from, like 2010.
I’mna draw you all together one day maybe
I actually finished the line art????????????????!!
So I didn’t go to the Glasgow comic con. BUT, my room mate, who had a table with her kickass stuff, did take a couple of my comics for me to get signed by the mighty Gail Simone, and now I’m all happy and ecstatic and gibbering. Also sad that I couldn’t get a Scandal Savage cosplay together and meet her in person, which is what I would have done if it had been any other con, but still super stoked to get these guys signed… <3
And all I’ve been hearing from my friends who did go is how amazing and lovely she really is and I’m so happy. I’m so happy she got to come and meet her Scottish fans and I’m glad they had a chance to meet her :)
